BTS Of Our First Photo Shoot

BTS Of Our First Photo Shoot

From kick-off call to photoshoot, our first design has been a year in the making.

Sure we're aware of other brands doing things more quickly than we are, but like they say about Instagram not being "real life" and we don't get the full picture of someone's situation without more insight, we've decided to keep on moving at our own pace.

It's taken a lot to get here...And we're still waiting on our production to be complete and delivery of goods. But that won't stop us from sharing all of the happy-dance-party details we've had in bringing this photoshoot to life!

Photographer

Vicki Bartel is THE legend of Woman's branding photoshoots in our parts. To say that we had any other option on the table wouldn't be the truth.  We knew it was her from the first time we laid eyes on her Instagram profile and judging from the pictures that I was able to snag just on my phone, Vicki's will be pure magic.

Model

Michelle is someone we first found on Instagram in pictures she did during a Wrangler campaign with a local photographer. I saved her photo over a year ago because we knew she looked exactly like what Charming Sally represented; sweet, feminine, playful. She is a dream and brought our dress to life in more ways than we could have asked for.

Makeup

With less than a day's notice cancellation from our original hair & makeup person, Mariane Roberto saved the day in a big way.  Efficient, easy to work with and the sweetest person, she created the exact natural look we were hoping for.

Stylist

Mena is also somewhat of a local celeb and someone we followed on Instagram but never met in person previously. As a fashion stylist & wardrobe consultant, we wanted her help with styling with accessories on location during the shoot, as well, to keep our lovely size XS model in the size medium sample dress we had to use for photos {now that's the real real bts!}

Collaboration

If you haven't guessed, Instagram has introduced us to the most amazing, inspiring and supportive people.  Additionally, we met a fellow Canadian Shelley, now based in California, from Nailed Golf.  As a Woman and fellow golfer, she took it upon herself to design & manufacture luxury golf products that are the highest quality while also being high-style. Shelley has been an incredible advocate for our brand and reached out to us regarding collaborating for our shoot. We were fortunate to style our dresses with her vintage-inspired Marilyn Golf Shoe {now everyone's favorite} & an assortment of coordinating premium cabretta leather golf gloves to go with each dress color.

Similar to parenting, a photoshoot takes a village.

We are so incredibly honoured to have these Women in the village we're creating for Charming Sally and cannot wait to show you the final edits!
